With so much attention focused on query letters, authors often neglect other important pitch packages that will help them position, market, sell, and draw attention to their book before, during, and after publication.
You need all the pitches so you can rise to any occasion. It’s like having a closet full of different outfits—sweats for relaxing at home, a suit for work, sparkly things for evening.
And by all, I mean these:
1. Two book synopses—one page and one paragraph.
2. A query letter to send to an agent or publisher.
3. A podcast guest pitch.
4. A pre-publication blurb request.
5. An all-purpose teaser.
6. An elevator pitch to deliver out loud, in real time.
You can work offline on your own—leaving you time for, say, feeding the kids or sitting in meetings. This is called being realistic. But you're not alone--personal coaching is built into the process.
The advantage of working on all 6 pitches together is you can borrow or mix-and-match bits and pieces so that all the pitches tell a consistent story about your story.
Pitch Package Palooza is for any unagented author (aspiring or published, indie or traditional) with a completed, unpublished novel or nonfiction book (not memoir) who is in the early stages of formulating the words to describe and position their book for the publishing world and related publicity machines. Writers of all genres, ages, genders, nationalities, and backgrounds (writing in English) are welcome!
At the end of 12 weeks, you will understand the differences among and purposes of all six pitch packages. You will have a reasonably polished version of all six that you can confidently share with people who are not your mother or your passive-aggressive best friend.
Personal Attention x Self-Paced x Collective Wisdom=Job Done!
At the end…we CELEBRATE with an online PITCH PACKAGE PARTY!
Expect to think, write, and revise intensively—and to meet deadlines so you don’t fall too far behind. This stuff is hard and you’ll need all the time in the course to get it done. Your first draft of a given pitch will surely not be your last.
You can read my bio and testimonials, or Google me, or visit my author website to get an idea about what I write (fiction and nonfiction) and the workshops I lead. The bottom line: I love helping writers find their way in this tough business. Beyond loving this work, I'm also a certified book coach.
The introductory price for this workshop is $510, which includes personal coaching, networking with other authors, and pitch party favors (hey, we all deserve some fun!) mailed to your home.
That’s only $42.50 per each week of coursework that gets you from zero to hero—with six pitch packages under your belt! This price point--way belong standard book coaching rates--will not be offered again.

You can try to write and polish all these pitches on your own. But experience shows that you’ll get better results faster if you work with a book coach and in conjunction with a small group of authors who share your goals.
